I love to BBQ. I enjoy having friends and/or family come over (depending on the day), sitting outside, and having some drinks while grilling up a buffet of food. Grilled asparagus, corn on the cob, steaks, burgers, chicken, ribs, you name it—I love to grill it!

I also LOVE burgers of all flavors and sizes (I don’t discriminate) so, I decided to grill up some yummy little cheesy BBQ bacon turkey sliders. They’re so cute and delicious, who could resist? If you’re “weatherly-challenged” (yup, just made that up on my own… trademarking it!), bookmark this recipe and save it for when it’s bearable to be outside… or, just cowboy-up and deal with it.
These sliders are great with baked sweet potato fries, regular fries, salads… whatever! Burgers play nicely with most other foods. They’re especially nice with a cold Shock Top, or any other of your favorite brews. Enjoy!
1-2 cups of your favorite BBQ sauce (our homemade BBQ sauce recipe coming soon)

Line a baking sheet with foil (makes for easier cleanup).
Arrange bacon slices on foil, place baking sheet on center rack of a cold oven.
Close oven door, turn oven on to 400°F (Great time to start preparing sliders).
Bake for 17 to 20 minutes.
Remove pan from oven. Transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb grease. Set aside.
Build a charcoal fire or heat a gas grill.
Place the ground turkey in a large bowl and add the garlic, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and oats.
Mix gently with fingers to combine.
Shape the meat into 2-inch patties of equal size and thickness.
When the grill is medium-hot, brush the grill grate with oil to keep the sliders from sticking.
Place the sliders on the grill and cook for about 4 minutes on each side (or until cooked all the way through).
For the last 1-2 minutes, divide buns in half and place on grill to toast.
Combine feta, parmesan, and parsley in a microwave-safe dish.
Microwave for 10-20 seconds on 50% power.
Take out, stir, and repeat as necessary until cheese is smoothly melted.
Top each toasted bun with a patty, then top with a few bacon slices. Drip a spoonful of the cheese over the top, and add a spoonful (or two) of BBQ sauce on top of the cheese.
As soon as the bacon is golden brown, but not overly crispy, it's done. The time will depend on thick the bacon is, and also on how quickly your oven reaches the target temperature. I usually use turkey bacon, because it's leaner, but I didn't have any this time. If using turkey bacon, watch very closely, as it cooks very fast! For this recipe, I used Sara Lee® Soft & Smooth White Mini Buns, but feel free to make your own, or buy whatever brand you like. Be careful when microwaving the cheese so that you don't over-cook it. It melts very easily and won't be as gooey if you cook for too long at once (speaking from experience). Feel free to add tomato slices, or grilled onions/mushrooms to the sliders, or whatever toppings you choose. Goes great with sweet potato fries!!
